NEVER AGAIN! SHOULD WE
ALLOW BABANGIDA TO RULE NIGERIA by Dotun Oyeniyi May 11, 2010 There comes a moment in the lives and times of
most clever men, when out of a self deluding believe in their
supposed superior intellect over others and the assumed idiocy of
others; they end up taking decisions which are anything but
clever. I strongly believe that that moment is here for General
Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) with his decision to return to
power.NigerianNews

GOODLUCK JONATHAN: THE
SAME OLD WINE IN A NEW BOTTLE by Dotun Oyeniyi April 01, 2010 After a long, self-serving, and
bewilderingly egoistic attempt by the minders of President Yar’Adua to
continue to rule Nigeria behind the veil of an invisible president;
commonsense, rather than constitutional provisions eventually triumphed.
The Yar’Adua interregnum was over, or appears to be, at least for now, and
out of that protracted gridlock emerged a man with an incredible ‘goodluck’,
Mr Jonathan as the Acting President (“AP”).NigerianNews

ARE OUR LEADERS LISTENING
TO THE PEOPLE’S SULTAN? by Dotun Oyeniyi February 01, 2010
I have a fervent admiration for the Sultan of Sokoto, His
Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar. We have not seen any
Sultan like him in our recent history. Unlike most of our
traditional rulers, the Sultan is not one to frequent the
corridors of power or churn out chieftaincy titles to the men in
power in pursuit of vain glory or monetary rewards in return. His
utterances, since asscending the Sultanate, have always been
incisive, frank, non-patronising of those in government and clearly
pro-masses.NigerianNews

RUNNING A SICK NATION FROM
A SICK BED: BLAME NO ONE BUT OBASANJO by Dotun Oyeniyi January 28, 2010 History, so we all say, has a
way of repeating itself. However, history is only able to repeat itself
because human beings tend to repeat our acts or inactions. History is not
self-made. It is made out of the deeds of human beings. So when a bad
history is repeated, it is either the author of that history is a gloating
sadist, deriving some pleasure out of a bad situation or an obdurate
personality refusing to learn from previous errors. NigerianNews
